Derived from India’s stepwells, Pools integrates a pavilion and a retention pond with various maze-like levels for its inhabitants to explore. Descending into the structure, an adventure space provides opportunities for walking, climbing, jumping, and swimming.

As a storm passes over the Pools, the pavilion retains water and slowly dispenses it into the ground, reducing the risk of high flooding.

An additional benefit of the accrued rain water are the small pools created throughout the pavilion, which merge with one another and provide an interactive space for play and fun.
