Benches
Built with the goal of creating communal seating for my high school’s outdoor space, these two bench projects were designed and constructed by hand. Located within a series of green spaces, both benches seat four to five people and  were implemented to facilitate social connection and bring life to unused patches of grass.

The benches offer two distinct approaches to utilizing sunlight. The first approach is to diminish the impact of the sun by creating a shaded enclosure. Meanwhile, the second approach maximizes sun exposure with the curved surface providing a comfortable space to recline in the sun.
