The days of going home and ending your day are over! Playful Palms achieves a greater goal in society, bringing people together. Rooted in Play Therapy, the cohousing community seeks to heal people through play.

Designed to end the standard city block, Playful Palms ties communities together with a collective hallway and flexible units. By implementing three distinct structures, Playful Palms is adaptable. The structure is modular. All units are designed to be flexible in moving and adapting to the site.

The building takes three distinct moves to assemble. The first is to adapt to the site. How the structure will move and form to its surroundings Is crucial for the design. The second step fills in the gaps for movement and centralized cores. Lastly, the final move is to fill in the blanks. Green spaces are tucked between each dwelling, creating an open and porous building.

The modularity and ability to adapt make the structure applicable to anywhere in the world. Playful Palms ultimately creates an environment where home and healing can harmonize.
