Through textural mapping, Life of a Salmon displays the stages of a salmon’s life.
The series begins in the first stage of life with a salmon egg. The next stage captures a more mature salmon’s gray and silver scales. Later in its life, when a salmon returns to its home to mate, the salmon’s scales evolve to a red color. The final stage captures the end of life. After changing colors and mating, most salmon die and many are used for human consumption as seen in the depiction of sashimi.
The use of SubD in Rhino allowed for the generation of the geometry and the final renderings were made using Vray.
